Mattie was my first Setter and is the most gentle, loving bitch ever.
A proper handful as a puppy, she has grown into the most beautifully behaved adult and is adored by everyone.
In 2007 Mattie was mated to Sh Ch Bournhouse Royal Colours and produced 6 healthy pups. Three are in show homes and three in pet homes. I love to receive updates and photos of her babies and am very grateful to their new owners for keeping in touch.
Mattie was a fabulous mum but due to her having a rather scary bout of eclampsiaand a period of “I won’t eat”, I have no plans for another litter from her.
Mattie has qualified for Crufts.
Mattie’s favourite food is roast chicken (warm please). She loves to bark at the koi and jump onto any available table to be fussed and groomed. The picnic bench nearest the pond is HERS and she is scared of cats.

Another super quality bitch bred by Mrs & Mr D & D Goutorbe.
I was lucky enough to have her from Charlies last litter.
She was so naughty as a puppy! This cheeky natured youngster was shown very lightly for the first year, taking 1st in puppy at the LKA 2006 and then went on to achieve 4th Best Puppy Bitch at Crufts 2007.
While waiting for her to come into full coat after her puppy moult, Sugar was kicked by a horse and, devastatingly, her show career was over.
Sugar received specialist surgery to replace all the ligaments in her knee and I am happy to report that, apart from a slight stiffness in that leg when she trots, she is now happily belting around with the others once again. I am indebted to Diane Batten MRCVS for her singular skill and wisdom.
Sugar’s favourite food is liver and she enjoys keeping law and order as the Alpha female (this includes next doors terriers!).
On 25.10.09 Sugar produced 8 gorgeous puppies to ShCh,Upperwood Escapade and has proved to be the best mother ever. Totally loving her new role she has reared all her babies with ease.
The only orange bitch from Mattie’s litter, Peaches stood out from day one.
She was a large infant who grow into a chunky puppy then a good, solid adult.
Very pretty, she has been something of a challenge to exhibit. It is always difficult to stand a dog that is just so excited about EVERYTHING!
Never the less, she qualified for Crufts at the Gundog Society of Wales Championship show and went on to qualify for 2010 by taking the 1st at the Manchester.
Forever on the go and full of the joy of living, Peaches is starting to settle into adulthood now and continues to enrich our lives.
Endlessly cheerful she has inherited her mum’s sweet, gentle and loving nature.
Peaches’ favourite food is someone elses! She loves water so is usually in or near the pond.
Her ambition is to finally catch the water coming out of the tap and her favourite toy is something she is not supposed to have.
